Students learn to identify plants common to Delaware forests in the Environmental Studies Summer Scholars Program hosted by Wesley College.

Ready for a real, hands-on experience in biotechnology and environmental science? These programs and internships are sure to boost your knowledge in fun and intriguing ways, from 4-H camps for elementary and middle-school students, to undergraduate research projects working with an EPSCoR scientist.

 

 

 

For all ages:
General Camp Indexthis web site provides information on camps sponsored by the University of Delaware or held on the University’s grounds by independent operators.
Delaware State Parkssummer camps and year-round programs that focus on science and environmental topics for all ages.

Delaware Science Olympiadpart of a national science competition program that emphasizes problem-solving aspects of science and understanding of science concepts.

 

For upper elementary and middle-school students:
4-H Campssummer day and residential camp programs that include science camps, ECOquest camp, and biotechnology camp. From the general camp page, select "4-H Camp" from the pull-down search menu.
Delaware Aerospace Academycamps designed to provide kids in grades 2-10 with hands-on training and experience in aerospace technology and related fields.
Engineering Cool Stuff Campa hands-on day camp in which budding engineers ages 12-16 learn to invent, design, or modify existing products to solve problems and improve life around them.

New Arc Academysummer programs for future scientists and engineers in grades 4-7 that include robotics, science, and computer programming activities

 

For high school students:
Environmental Studies Summer Scholars Program a week-long residential program at Wesley College in which participants learn to measure and evaluate the impact of land use and land-use changes on soil and water resources.
Delaware Aerospace Academy camps designed to provide kids in grades 2-10 with hands-on training and experience in aerospace technology and related fields.
Engineering Cool Stuff Camp a hands-on day camp in which budding engineers ages 12-16 learn to invent, design, or modify products to solve problems and improve life around them.
Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering (FAME) one of several summer college preparatory experiences offered at the University of Delaware for groups that are underrepresented in science and engineering.

Summer College an opportunity for academically talented high school sophomores and juniors to live on campus and take college-level courses during the summer at the University of Delaware.

 

For college students:
EPSCoR Undergraduate Research Internship Program a 10-week summer program that enables college students to conduct original research with the guidance of a faculty mentor.
Ecology for Nonscience Majors at Delaware State a course that introduces nonscience majors to key concepts in environmental studies and why they matter. Contact Professor Len Davis.
Biotechnology Program at Del Tech’s Georgetown Campus oan associate’s degree program to train the next generation of skilled technicians and research assistants for employment in the biotech industry.
